What an awesome book to to kick start our blog with!
This is the second time I have read this book, and it is one of my favourites. I love it. On second read through I raced through it, much as the first time. Although, this time I understood bits, that before I just didn’t consider completely.
I would give it a million stars, if I could. Karin Slaughter is just the best at writing the gritty, gruesome and enthralling details, that keep you hooked until the end.
Sara Linton is from a tiny little county town in the middle of nowhere. She works as the towns paediatrician and also the towns medical examiner. This doesn’t really go hand in hand with your ex husband being the chief of police – its not like you can’t see him if you’re doing the autopsies for his cases! Jeffery Tolliver cheated on Sara so they split up. End of. Will they get back together? It’s not a main focus of this book, but obviously runs along nicely in the back ground. There is a brutal murder, then another. Sara is caught up in the middle of it and needs to help Jeffery catch the bad guy before he kills again, can they do it?
The Grant county series is my favourite series of books. The Will Trent ones that come afterwards, are a close second.
I cannot recommend this book enough! Read it!! 😊
