New for 2019 – a monthly wrap up – we LOVE reading other people’s round ups of their month of reading, so we thought we’d share what we’ve loved and not-so-loved this month in our bookish world.
Good morning everyone! I hope your February has been as fab as ours? We went a little overboard buying books this month – I think between us we bought about 20?! Whoops. π We were so busy buying books and going on book trips we didn’t actually manage much reading. We will have to change that in March. π
π First up, what have we read? π
Becca:
The Flower Girls by Alice Clark-Platts πππππ (Out now)
Say You’re Sorry by Karen Rose πππππ (Out now)
One summer in Paris by Sarah Morgan πππ (released in April 2019)
I’m currently reading 14 by JT Ellison – it is taking me a little while, I started it back in October! I don’t know why it is dragging so much, because it isn’t a bad book. It just isn’t grabbing me like I want it to. About half way through at the moment, hopefully I’ll get a bit more stuck in for the second half. Are you reading anything at the moment that isn’t quite what you thought it would be?
Kate:
πππA Perfect Evil by Alex Kava
It’s been a bit of slow reading month this month, SYS was a massive book to get through for me and Kate has got loads of books on the go. Plus we’ve been busy getting around the country for days out and bookish trips!
Last month we thought about how we read the same genres and authors, so our star rating tends not to dip below 3π. Shall we see if we did any better this month….
Authors we’ve read before – Becca: 2/3 Kate: 0/1
Genres – Becca: Romantic suspense 1/3 Crime 1/3 Romance 1/3
Kate: Thriller 1/1
Well, genre-wise I think we did well. Author-wise Becca did terribly for moving away from the familiar. Bravo Kate!
The Beautiful Book Break Book Swap is a way we have tried to get around this comfort. See our new post and find out what happened when Kate read one of Becca’s favourite thriller books, and Becca attempted one of Kate’s young adult fictions. Let’s just say it did NOT go well for Kate! π
πWhat was the best book we read this month?π
So this month, as Kate has only read one book, which she did not enjoy!! Becca’s choice of Say You’re Sorry wins! Hurrah! This Karen Rose novel was just the right mix of suspense, tension and steamy sex scenes, what more could you ask for!! π
