The Silent Wife – Karin Slaughter

The Silent Wife – Karin Slaughter

Not entirely sure where to start… First of all this book was amazing, second of all I have so much to say and when I read this book I had no one to talk about it with!!! Third of all, this review is going to have spoilers in it. I will put a massive spoiler warning before I get to those bits though! ๐Ÿ™‚

The Silent Wife is Karin Slaughter’s 20th book and it is a continuation of the Will Trent series. After a little run of standalones – Pieces of her, The Good Daughter – Karin gave us The Last Widow last year, and now The Silent Wife to give us our fill of Will and Sara. It is out next month – put June 25th in your calendar!

Faithless – Karin Slaughter

Faithless – Karin Slaughter

I love this book.

It is the fifth in the Grant Series, following Dr Sara Linton and her husband, Police Chief Jeffrey Tolliver. This book starts with Sara and Jeffrey arguing (as usual) in the forest behind Sara’s parent’s house around the lake. Jeffrey’s past is catching up with him again, as he hears devastating news from the woman he cheated on Sara with. Whilst arguing, the pair come across a body buried in the ground beneath them.

Indelible – Karin Slaughter

Indelible – Karin Slaughter

Indelible – Grant county series No. 4 – by Karin Slaughter.

This is a good place to start if you don’t start at the beginning of the series. (I don’t know why you wouldn’t want to read them all in order though, they are all so fab!) It is kind of the origin story for Sara and Jeffrey and tells of the very early part of their relationship and how that has shaped the dynamic of their future relationship. Once you’ve read this, you can understand more about the present day Sara and Jeffrey.

The Last Widow – Karin Slaughter

The Last Widow – Karin Slaughter

Karin Slaughter fans have been waiting a long time for this book. The Last Widow is the 9th book in the Will Trent series. Last time we saw Will, was in The Kept Woman back in 2017. Well, it was definitely worth the wait- and you can see why it took so long (apart from Slaughter writing two stand alone novels in the mean time). The research for this book must have taken an insanely long time. It is so very detailed. I get super excited when a new Slaughter book is announced, so it is no surprise that I gave this one 5 stars. Hereโ€™s what I thought:

A Faint Cold Fear – Karin Slaughter

A Faint Cold Fear – Karin Slaughter

This is the third book in the Grant County series by Karin Slaughter. We catch up with Sara, Jeffrey and Lena and of course there’s a death in town.

I’ve read this book before and loved it back then, as much as now. It’s not the best in the series, but that in no way detracts from the awesomeness of Sara and Jeffrey’s case solving skills. Karin writes this like the rest of her books, with suspense, gore and mystery. It isn’t for the faint hearted – like nearly all her books – they are graphic and bloody. ๐Ÿ™‚

BOOK SWAP – The Single Girl’s To Do List – Lindsey Kelk and Pretty Girls – Karin Slaughter

Every so often we like to do a book swap. Kate likes YA mainly and Becca enjoys thrillers. It’s good to try something different, so we came up with a book swap where we each give each other one of our reads and see what the other thinks.

This month we did ‘The Single Girl’s To Do List’ by Lindsey Kelk (being Kate’s chic lit choice) and ‘Pretty Girls’ by Karin Slaughter (being Becca’s thriller choice). Here’s what we each thought of our respective swaps!Read More »
